Did I mention that I love chickens...and eggs...and chickeny thingies ? Well, here are 2 of my favourite things - eggs and a chickeny thingy. My daughter gave this to me a few years ago. I absolutely love it !! It is put to good use, and eggs are in and out of it at a rapid rate.
I really like that green (must be the gardener in me). In fact, a lot of my kitchen accessories are green.
These little T-Lights are one of my favourite accessories at the moment. I buy candles by the bagful, and use them every day. Of course, with grandchildren around, I am extrememly careful where I place them, and do check on them regularly.
The one shown is a wonderful fragrance - magnolia and vanilla ! They come in every flavour and aroma you can imagine - and they make the house smell divine. They are so inexpensive, and are really worth buying - very useful.
Isn't this a wonderful pot pourri mix ? I just love it. I have a few bowls with pot pourri here and there around the house. The mix is so inexpensive to buy, or you can make your own. I find the bowls in our charity shops. This is a large ceramic bowl, very shallow. It lives on the lime-washed coffee table in the sitting room. I sprinkle the pot pourri with an essential oil now and again. One of my favourites is jasmine. It makes the room smell wonderful and fresh.
This is another charity shop find that I love. It lives on shelf in the kitchen. It's about 6inches high. I throw all my small change in it, and it's readily available when the older grandkids ask for an ice-cream or a treat. In fact, if anyone is looking for change, you will hear the youngest one (3) say "Check Grandma's Cash !"
I absolutely love chickens !! We have had chickens (real ones) at many times over the years - mainly for eggs - and they have always been a favourite of mine. I'm sure, in time, I will be able to have chickens once again, and I really look forward to that. But until then, I collect chickens, and chickeny thingies, so I'll share a few with you.
These two jaunty cocks are sitting on my kitchen windowsill. They were a charity shop find - 50p each - and are carved from a light wood. I think they are just great.
