Just a general update here, with random photos in between. I took all the photos this afternoon as I worked.
What a great day I had today. Up to my elbows in dirt, granddaughter in tow, I played in the garden the whole day. Never thought winter would end ! Today was warm. I had a high of 16C/60F in my little patch. Bliss. For some of you that may seem cold, for others of you, that's hot weather. I found it slightly on the cool side, but it kept me happy all day. I couldn't even bring myself in to start the food this evening. So DH went for fish and chips, and we ate them outside, up to the garden table. How lucky can you get.
At the moment, I am planting seedlings, moving plants around, trimming, tidying - just generally having fun. I'm over-planting again - can't help myself. But I'll always find a home for any plants I have to move. I have definitely decided against planting any veg this year. I really don't have the room. I'm praying that I get an allotment soon. I'll have to phone the Council and find out how much further up the list I've moved - if at all. There is such a great demand for allotments, and precious few plots available.
On Saturday morning, hubby and I went to B&Q for paint (he's painting the house interior), and I noticed that all their seedlings were on special - so I promptly loaded up the trolley with petunias, pansies and impatiens. They'll add some lively colour to pots, and the impatiens will do well on the shady side of the garden.
Look at that lovely hosta coming up through the soil. I've never seen anything more exciting !
The pansies from B&Q.
Do you remember the Mystery rose I bought last year. I repotted it today. It's doing very well - and so am I. *grin*
